Separate collection growth from your equipped build. The developer's pet update says pet CP accumulates across the collection, while pet abilities are a reason to choose a useful team.

Pet rules with an official source

The 2.19 announcement describes duplicate pets giving Orbs, pet levels up to 50, extra attributes at 25 and 50, and an initial five-pet equip limit. That limit is not presented here as today's maximum: the later Coral Sanctuary announcement lists five pet slots among its boss rewards.

Eggs have a resource boundary

The pet announcement says intimacy can reach 40, with resource costs starting at 26. Its advice favors maximizing Primordial egg intimacy. Before crossing the free portion, inspect what the next level consumes.

  1. Identify the egg.
  2. Check intimacy and the next cost.
  3. Decide whether that cost competes with another planned upgrade.
  4. Confirm the hatch timer before leaving.

The same announcement describes one incubator initially, a second purchasable with gold, and Mother's Warmth reducing hatch time. UNSURE: your present unlock requirements and costs.

Build by purpose

Read the ability text before equipping. Decide what problem the combination should solve, then inspect overlap and conditions. A rarer portrait is not itself an explanation of synergy.
