WARDOGS Season 03 Lands November 12 With a New Map
WARDOGS Season 03 drops November 12th with a new urban map called Sabatulo, longer seasons, and a promise to fix what went wrong in Season 02, per the developers' Steam devlog.
WARDOGS Season 03 drops November 12th. The developers posted a devlog on Steam on November 6th called "Road to Season 3," and it reads like a reset.
What's changing
The devs say they recap "where we went wrong with Season 02" and lay out what Season 03 is built on. Their words: no social experiments, no reactivity. They also promise a brand new map, longer seasons, and a commitment to building the best version of WARDOGS on the road to 1.0.
The new map is Sabatulo. The source says it brings urban warfare and close quarters combat to WARDOGS.
The post also says the team addresses cheating and exploiting, and what they're doing about it going into Season 03. The source doesn't say what those measures are. So I can't tell you either.
What it means at your keyboard
Close quarters means corners, doorways and the sound of someone breathing behind a wall. If you've been playing WARDOGS at range, expect that to change on Sabatulo. Longer seasons mean more time with each season before the next one lands.
The source gives no price, platform list, or details on what the longer seasons actually look like. Season length, in numbers, is not in the post. Vague is vague.
More info is coming in the Season 03 Patch Notes Preview early next week. That's the one with the details, and I'll be there.
My take
Devs who say "we went wrong" in public get points from me. That's rare. "No social experiments" is a bold line, and I respect a team that names its own misstep instead of hiding it in "various improvements."
But a promise isn't a patch note. The cheating section is the one I care about most, and it needs specifics. Until the preview drops, I'm cautiously hyped, and my one decorative fan is spinning at a respectful speed.
Read the patch notes. Then read them again.
