Patch Notes: Ladders, Referrals, Survivor, Brackets and a Tighter Layout
Achievement ladders, referral links, browser push and a tighter layout are here for everyone. Football testers also get head-to-head Cap Space, friend leagues, Survivor, confidence picks and a stack of NFL pages.
Big patch day. Some of this is for everyone. The football parts are beta testers only. Want in? Apply at hizzle.com/beta.
For everyone
- Achievement ladders. Anything you can do more than once now has a ladder, with rungs at 1, 5, 10, 25 and up. The page at /achievements is grouped into Site, Forums, Picks and Cap Space. Nobody lost anything, and a few old achievements now pay more.
- Referrals. Grab your link on the Refer friends page (account menu, or /referrals). It shows who joined and who confirmed. Two new ladders, Recruiter and Talent Scout, reward it.
- Browser push. Turn it on in Settings > Notifications > Browser notifications. On iPhone and iPad, Apple only allows it for sites added to the home screen.
- A tighter layout. There is a new nav bar under the header with dropdowns for every main section. Text and titles are smaller, and pages are denser. Nothing moved or got renamed.
New football games (testers only)
- Head-to-head Cap Space. You get one opponent a week, and you can challenge a friend. A win is worth 10 Hizzle Score.
- Friend leagues. Start a private league at /football/leagues and send the invite link. You get your own Beat the Sim and Cap Space boards.
- Survivor. Pick one team a week and never repeat one. A loss, a tie or a missed week ends your run. It's free, at /football/survivor.
- Confidence picks. Rank your picks by how sure you are, at /football/confidence.
- Playoff bracket. It's at /football/playoff-bracket and opens once the playoff field is set.
- Cap Space: Fill my lineup. One tap signs a full lineup under the cap.
- Share your week. Post a card with your record and the Sim's. Friends can see it even though football is in beta.
- Weekly recap email. It goes out on Tuesdays to anyone who played that week.
New NFL pages (testers only)
Find these under the Football menu:
- Standings and the playoff picture
- Injury report
- Strength of schedule
- Penalties by team
- Referee stats and assignments
- A page for every player with stats
- Box scores on game pages
- Weekly pick pages
Buck also answers unanswered football forum threads. Tag @buck to get him in. His mailbag runs on Fridays.
Live scores
Our old live score feed shut us out on Oct 22. We moved to a new one. Live scores and live Cap Space points run from it, and the official stats still replace them the next morning. If it's broken, I'm already on it.
Thanks to every beta tester who sent bug reports. Keep the screenshots coming.
