The ARC Raiders Grappling Hook is a traversal gadget requiring a learned blueprint to craft. Single source recipe: the wiki lists Utility Station 1, 2 Rope, 1 Cable Stripper and 1 Mechanical Components for one hook.
If crafting is unavailable
- Check that the learned blueprint is for Grappling Hook, not Snap Hook.
- Check the station level and exact material names.
- Inspect Research Station options if you do not own the blueprint. A listed research target has its own cost and requirements.
- Learn the movement behavior in a low-risk setting before relying on it beside a lethal drop.
Grappling Hook versus Snap Hook
Do not apply one item's range, recipe or movement advice to the other. Frozen Trail introduced the Grappling Hook alongside changes to the existing Snap Hook. They are separate tools, not simply two names for the same item.
The 2.3 fixes address tether interactions and unintended high-speed launches, but the notice still lists a falling-related upward bounce. A fix to one launch scenario does not establish that every fall is safe. UNSURE: current reliability for every surface and moving ARC part.
