WARDOGS how to fly helicopter: practice lift, pitch, roll, yaw and landing in the Firing Range before buying a transport aircraft. Learn to stop deliberately, not just to move quickly. This is a researched practice sequence, not a claim that Hizzle flew the aircraft.

Understand the four jobs

Control action What you are trying to manage
Collective/lift Increase or reduce the lift input.
Pitch Tilt the nose forward or back.
Roll Bank the aircraft to either side.
Yaw Turn its heading left or right.

Check the bindings displayed under your installed vehicle/rotary controls. Published keyboard layouts commonly use Shift/Ctrl for collective, W/S for pitch, A/D for roll and Q/E for yaw. Single source control-reference scope: presets, remapping and gamepad changes mean that list is not a universal current layout. The table above describes actions so you can match your own bindings.

A repeatable learning session

  1. In the range, identify the four axes and the flight readouts. Change one setting at a time.
  2. Lift into a low, stable hover, then practice bringing each input back toward neutral.
  3. Travel toward a chosen open landing area. Reduce speed early and watch the readout rather than judging motion only by the scenery.
  4. Level, descend and land. Repeat until you can stop without turning every approach into a last-second correction.
  5. Practice a second destination and a return landing. A successful takeoff alone is not preparation for a passenger route.

Choose an affordable live aircraft only when you understand its controls, operating costs and route. Inspect available countermeasures and equipment rather than assuming every model shares them.

The official Season 2 notes say parachutes open more slowly, will not open below about 10m, and can still leave insufficient slowing time when deployed below roughly 50m during a fast fall. These are warnings in the notes, not a guaranteed safe bailout altitude. No fixed sensitivity, crash-proof maneuver or guaranteed lock-on escape is claimed.
