WARDOGS how to use mortar: confirm a target, establish the bearing and range, then coordinate a deliberate shot with the squad. Check the current build and ammunition requirements before placing the gun. The older ranging method below has explicit evidence limits.

Prepare the gun and target

  1. Confirm a friendly FOB has the required construction and ammunition supplies. Inspect the current blueprint and operating prompts.
  2. Mark the target and check friendly positions. Agree who observes the result and reports corrections.
  3. Identify your mortar's position and the target's position on the map. Keep both coordinates from the same coordinate system.
  4. Align the bearing and the displayed RNG/range setting using the current interface. Load/fire through the bindings shown by the installed build.
  5. Have the observer confirm the result before committing more supplies. Recheck the target if the situation changes.

What coordinate math can establish

The published method estimates horizontal distance from the two coordinate differences, then applies its stated map-unit scale. The distance formula itself is square root of (horizontal difference squared + vertical difference squared). The game's coordinate scale and ballistic handling still need current independent confirmation.

UNSURE: the old guide's 100m-per-unit conversion, all current range limits, elevation correction and first-shot accuracy. Do not treat a flat-map calculation as a guaranteed hit or import its sample coordinates as a target location.

Why older supply and animation tips need review

The official Season 2 notes increase the mortar's build cost to 600 construction supplies, change ammunition restocking and add a firing animation that reduces its fire rate. We therefore do not repeat the old low-cost blueprint, fixed per-shell bill or animation-skip shortcut as current advice.

No exact optimal barrage, fixed time to unlock or reproduced game map is supplied. WARDOGS how to build FOB: placement and supplies covers the base, WARDOGS how to level Driver: delivery loops covers resupply, and WARDOGS patch notes: Season 2 corrections shows the relevant balance scope. No in-game testing.
