Enshrouded how to use the grappling hook: craft or obtain it, equip it, then approach an appropriate anchor and use the contextual action. The game-file tutorial says grappling uses stamina; carrying a hook loose in the bag is not the full setup.
Published starter recipe
Single source: the fan reference lists a Workbench recipe of 4 Metal Scraps, 7 String and 10 Shroud Spores. These are a dated reference, not a directly inspected live-client export. Your actual recipe takes priority if it differs.
Look for the anchor and its interaction prompt, then allow room for the movement. Hizzle recommends learning a short crossing before relying on the hook at a dangerous edge.
Combat hooks are separate skills. The tutorial names Giant Slayer Hook for pulling toward large enemies and Grounding Hook for pulling flying enemies toward you. Possessing the starter hook does not automatically establish either ability.
Patch 1 fixed some malfunctioning anchors. UNSURE: every current anchor, underwater upgrade gate and controller binding. Use the button shown by your current control setup instead of assuming an old PC key applies to PS5.
