Enshrouded skill points come from leveling and clearing root objectives, then unlock connected nodes in the skill menu. Hizzle recommends spending toward a problem you can name, rather than filling a tree because a screenshot calls it optimal.
Check the available points
Open the skill menu, select an available connected node and inspect its current cost. Advanced nodes can require earlier choices. A distant skill's description is not proof it can be bought immediately.
The developer states that 1.0 resets existing skill allocations. Check unspent points before diagnosing an imported character as permanently broken. A repeated unexplained loss after saving and returning is a separate issue; record the build and current state rather than assuming a cheat tool is a fix.
Roots are not an infinite point farm
The developer FAQ says cleared roots remain part of your character's progression when changing worlds. The game-file tutorial says the same root cannot award additional skill points after it respawns.
UNSURE: a fully reconciled current maximum-point total and every shared-credit radius. A published 212-point build is an author's budget, not proof that every character or save should currently have 212 points.
