Minecraft: DIAMONDS! trophy guide

Mine diamond ore with an iron pickaxe and pick up the diamond. Status: Verified.

PS5 trophy details

• Grade: Bronze. Set: Base game. No separately purchased DLC is implied by the catalogue's expansion-pack label.
• Missable: no story-ending lockout; the task can be repeated in an eligible Survival world. Eligibility can still be lost through settings.
• Difficulty: 3/10, Hizzle editorial estimate. Time: UNSURE. Hidden flag: UNSURE.
• Players: Solo route described; online play is not required by this method. Online required: no for the described route; local play can be used for the two-player tasks.
• Roadmap: mid phase of Minecraft PS5 Platinum trophy roadmap.

What to do

1. Bring an iron pickaxe, food, torches, spare blocks and a water bucket into the deep Overworld.
2. Expose any diamond ore carefully, checking nearby blocks for lava before breaking it.
3. Mine it with the iron pickaxe and collect the diamond item.

Before you repeat it

A stone pickaxe can destroy the ore without giving you its diamond. Reserve early diamonds for a pickaxe and the enchanting project.

Evidence and editions

Mojang confirms that an iron pickaxe can mine diamonds. The Wiki's Bedrock condition is picking up the diamond from the ground. Mining is the route described here, not a claim that a crafted diamond tool is required. Stable Bedrock 26.60 notes and recent indexed reports were reviewed on November 3, 2026. No in-game test was performed. PS4 players must match the trophy in their own stack; see Minecraft PS5 vs PS4 trophy differences. Xbox points and Java advancement equivalence are not established by this PS5 record.
