Minecraft villagers, trading and current raids

Protect villagers before using them for trading and raids. A reliable crop sale and a safe curing room are worth more than a village full of open doors at night.

A practical trading base

Light the settlement, close exposed entrances and give working villagers access to the work areas they need. Sell renewable resources and take the emerald outputs yourself. When a trade locks, allow restocking rather than killing the trader. Track income separately from the emeralds you later spend.

Cure a zombie villager

Prepare a shaded secure enclosure, apply Weakness, use a normal golden apple on the patient and protect it until the cure finishes. Ordinary zombies are not zombie villagers. A cure is not an excuse to expose the rest of your village to infection.

How a current raid starts

1. Prepare armor, food, healing, ranged attacks and a protected village before drinking anything.
2. Obtain an ominous bottle from an appropriate source and drink it for Bad Omen.
3. Enter the village and let the Raid Omen sequence complete.
4. Fight the waves while protecting villagers. Milk can clear omen effects before the raid begins.

Old tutorials say killing a banner captain automatically gives Bad Omen. That rule changed with Tricky Trials. A captain kill and starting a raid remain separate trophy tasks.

Discount and combat cleanup

After winning, use the active Hero of the Village discount to complete a qualifying trade for Minecraft: Buy Low, Sell High trophy guide. Inspect the actual offer instead of promising a universal one-emerald price.
