Clear the root after the encounter

Check the wells near the Elixir Production Site, Forge of Obsidia and Polaris Falls. The compiled route describes a long well path with multiple roots and an upper section near a Fell Cyclops. A single cleared room or the first root is not a complete inspection of that route.

Read the obelisks, repair your axe and prepare for the actual Shroud and travel conditions before each trip. Fight or bypass threats as your kit allows, then destroy the root itself. A boss kill, loot chest or arrival at the well entrance does not demonstrate root completion.

Count the right thing

The data summary counts 11 targets, split into five well-root flags and six other flags. The compiled table says 11 roots plus two wells, but its body names three wells and also calls 11 the region total. These scopes do not agree. Treat the full physical checklist as UNSURE rather than adding every number together.

The official 1.0 notes added edge-area roots and changed unfinished root achievements. Inspect newly revealed boundary areas even if your early-access route looked complete. Some sealed structures are revisited by later story objectives; blind digging is not a confirmed substitute for progressing those quests.

Planning limits: a complete missable/DLC audit, numerical difficulty, total hours and every imported-save or shared-credit exception remain UNSURE. Solo is a researched planning option, not proof that every multiplayer or PS5 trigger behaves identically. Hizzle has not played this route.
