Phantom Blade Zero Way of the Phantom requires a Chain Assassination, not two unrelated kills. Begin an assassination without alerting the first enemy, then use the linked follow-up prompt for a nearby second target. Single source complete method draft: other authored coverage supports nearby follow-ups, but full method independence and current unlock timing remain unestablished.
Set up the linked action
- Look for an unaware enemy with another potential target nearby. Hizzle suggests an ordinary encounter you have not cleared; this is not a verified farming location.
- Crouch and approach the first enemy from behind, or use an available overhead assassination approach. Wait for the assassination prompt rather than starting an ordinary attack.
- Perform that assassination and watch for the second-target chain prompt described by Solo Jugadores. Use the action shown while that opportunity is available.
- Let the linked follow-up finish, then check Steam. If no prompt appeared, the first assassination alone does not prove a chain.
All Things How documents a campfire bandit in Weeping Creek Valley as an example of the initial stealth action. It does not establish that this particular bandit always has a qualifying second target. Do not treat its example as a guaranteed achievement farm.
Use your current prompt
The reviewed PC patch adds interaction remapping and updates controller icons. This page therefore names the displayed action rather than requiring a controller button copied from a different preset. Exact target spacing, input window, visibility rules and any current-client prerequisites remain UNSURE.
PC Gamer's Sean Martin also reports that an assassination can lead into a nearby second enemy. That is helpful corroboration of the concept, not proof that every nearby pair or every orientation qualifies. We have not established a longer hidden kill counter, a required difficulty or a guaranteed reset after an unsuccessful attempt.
Assassination and execution are different
An assassination begins from stealth. A normal execution is a combat finisher associated with an eligible enemy's broken guard. The separate Way of the Blade requirement asks for a Chain Execution, whose full method remains pending in Phantom Blade Zero trophies: PS5 versus Steam. Completing a normal finisher or two separate stealth kills is not evidence that the linked action occurred.
No mod, boss-spawn tool or repeatable-respawn route is required by this draft. Recovery when suitable encounters have already been cleared remains UNSURE; we do not prescribe NG+ as mandatory without evidence.
Steam-only entry relative to the retained PS5 list. Base game, single player, no online step described; attempt during the first playthrough while suitable enemies remain. Hizzle difficulty estimate 2/10, time UNSURE. Encounter availability and missed-unlock recovery UNSURE. PC 1.0302256 reviewed; no Hizzle in-game testing.
