Rust Hostile Waters achievement: start opening a Ghost Ship locked crate. Single source: the published route boards a guarded Ghost Ship and begins the locked-crate interaction. Steam names starting the opening process, not finishing every loot step.

Identify the correct ship and crate

Prepare for scientists and other players, find a Ghost Ship with a locked crate and reach its interaction point. Start the hacking/opening action using the current prompt, then inspect credit. A loose ordinary crate on a tropical island is a different target.

The developer says some Ghost Ships contain locked crates. Hizzle does not adopt the older guide's approximate ship count or promise exactly one eligible crate in every event. Inspect the actual ship rather than waiting on a guessed respawn schedule.

Current initiation-versus-completion checks, shared hacking credit, disconnects and interrupted progress remain UNSURE. This draft supplies no guaranteed hacking duration. Plan a way off the ship even if the achievement appears before the container can be looted.
