Why an old guide gives different requirements
The Extra Slots history records the November 21, 2025 change from eight starting slots and four flex slots to nine plus three. Guides that still require a Guardian set, all Walkers and Base Guardians for four slots describe the earlier system.
Turn the unlock into useful power
Hizzle's practical advice: look for a Walker push after your team wins space, rather than staying in an empty street for another skirmish. Clear the route with teammates, check whether defenders can return and retreat when the opportunity closes. An extra slot helps every teammate who is running out of room.
The slot is capacity, not a free item. You still need souls for the purchase. Use Deadlock beginner build: McGinnis first buys to make that purchase solve a real problem, and Deadlock how to get more souls and catch up if you have room but no money. Deadlock how to win: objectives and Patron explains how Walker pressure connects to the base.
