Rust Friendly Neighbour achievement: wave at five different players. Reported bugged: the checked author reports unreliable waves and map/server differences. No universal current workaround is established.

Use five distinct people

Find another player, face them and perform the Wave gesture using your current controls. Repeat with five different players and inspect the counter between attempts where possible. The older method suggests social areas such as Outpost or Bandit Camp as places to meet people, not as a guaranteed eligibility flag.

Hizzle recommends keeping a simple list of distinct people for this attempt. Steam's requirement says different players. Rejoining and repeatedly waving at the same person is therefore not presented as a verified replacement, even though an older guide proposes repeat-target tricks.

The method author says a return wave was not needed in their route. Exact distance, line-of-sight, map type, clan/team relationships and present server support remain UNSURE. Do not change server identity flags or use an achievement-unlocker tool to manufacture a result.

Planning and evidence

Equipment/DLC: No paid pack is established for the published route.

Other players: Five different other players are explicitly required.

Hizzle's 3/10 difficulty is an editorial setup estimate. Completion time, current server eligibility, reset/shared credit and every missable exception remain UNSURE unless stated above. The Steam group/card label does not prove equipment needs no DLC. Console Edition has a different catalogue. A patch review is not an in-game test; Hizzle has not tested this method.

UNSURE marks what this guide hasn't established. Hizzle Guides research from public sources; we don't claim in-game testing unless a page says so.
