Farming Simulator 25 how to fertilize: first check whether Precision Farming is enabled. In the base game, work toward the displayed fertilization percentage; with Precision Farming, work toward the crop and soil nitrogen target.

Without Precision Farming

The official manual describes repeating a fertilizer application with a crop growth stage between passes to reach 100%. It also describes double-rate manure or slurry application as an alternative. Read the field state after the pass, and do not assume another lap over an already satisfied area creates more yield.

Solid fertilizer uses a compatible spreader; liquid fertilizer uses a sprayer. Slurry, manure and digestate require matching tools. Lime and herbicide perform different jobs.

With Precision Farming

Read the soil data, crop, nitrogen state and selected application mode. A simple two-pass rule cannot explain every optional-pack field. The developer's retained overview describes adjusting mineral fertilizer to the crop target after sowing, and the FS25 pack adds PWM and section-control tools.

A Steam discussion gives conflicting explanations of one versus two passes and sensors. Hizzle has not turned either side into a universal recipe. Check actual target values and current pack corrections before buying a second sprayer.

UNSURE: exact current targets for every crop/soil combination and every combo-seeder interaction. A zero-output pass may mean the target is already met, but input, tool state and field data also need checking; it is not automatically a bug.
