Choose a bunker route

The official manual describes unloading grass or chaff into a bunker, driving over it to compact the pile, covering it and waiting for fermentation. Chaff can be produced by a forage harvester with a suitable header. Unlike a combine, that machine needs an accompanying trailer because it has no storage tank of its own.

Hizzle recommends checking the whole chain first: harvester or mower, transport, bunker, compaction and a way to remove the finished material. A costly forage machine alone does not complete the operation.

Choose a bale route

Mow and collect grass with a baler that makes a size your wrapper accepts. Wrap those grass bales and let fermentation finish. Read the actual material and progress display before feeding or selling the result.

Compare cost before scaling

Compare leases, transport trips, handling and the selling point's actual quote. A full bale count is not the same as profit after costs.
