Farming Simulator 25 how to make hay: mow grass, run a tedder over the cut material, then collect the hay using suitable equipment. The official manual describes tedding as the conversion step; waiting beside an ordinary grass bale is not the documented hay method.
Follow the material
- Mow the grass you are allowed to work.
- Use a tedder over the cut grass to make hay.
- Use a windrower to gather it into manageable rows if needed.
- Pick it up with a compatible loading wagon or baler.
- Check the material name and bale size before storing, selling or feeding it.
A windrower rearranges the crop for pickup; it is not a replacement for the tedder. A baler packages the material, and its supported size must match the handling equipment you intend to use.
Hay is not straw or silage
Straw comes from the swath after appropriate cereal harvesting, including wheat, barley or oats. Silage uses fermentation. Hay belongs in a different stage of the feed chain, including TMR preparation.
Hizzle suggests deciding whether the hay will be stored loose or baled before leasing extra equipment. Exact current bale volumes, drying interactions on custom maps and modded pellet recipes remain UNSURE. The Straw Harvest pack is a separate scope from this base-game route.
