Choose the combat role you want to repeat, rather than a claimed universal best class. NC confirms eight global launch classes; the role descriptions below are Single source community guidance, not a verified damage tier list.
The eight choices
- Gladiator: melee damage with some defensive flexibility. Consider it if you want to fight close to the target.
- Templar: the dedicated tank choice. Consider it if controlling a fight appeals more than chasing the damage meter.
- Assassin: melee burst and positional play. Consider it if you enjoy managing an attack window.
- Ranger: bow damage from range. Consider it if ranged weapon combat is your preference.
- Sorcerer: ranged spell damage and control. Consider it if you enjoy planning spell use around movement.
- Spiritmaster: ranged magic with spirits. Consider it if managing magical companions sounds fun.
- Chanter: support, buffs and damage. Consider it if you want a support role with an active offensive job.
- Cleric: healing and recovery. Consider it if watching the party and responding to danger is the part you enjoy.
Three questions before you commit
- Do you want to watch enemies, allies or both? Healing changes where your attention goes.
- Would you rather lead positioning or follow it? A tank needs to learn encounters, not simply equip tougher armor.
- Can you comfortably use your movement and defensive controls while attacking? Try the controls before copying an elaborate rotation.
These are Hizzle's selection questions, not performance measurements. No class guarantees a raid invitation.
Avoid importing a Korean build blindly
The community reference distinguishes global's available systems from KR/TW progression. Skill slots, available equipment and balance can differ. The October 28 global patch also changed class survivability and Assassin skills, so an older ranking may describe a different balance state.
For a practical first setup, read AION 2 Gladiator PvE build: the level-16 transition, AION 2 Cleric PvE build: healing and Condemnation, AION 2 Sorcerer PvE build: Hellfire and cooldowns, AION 2 Ranger PvE build: Deadshot and Precision, AION 2 Templar PvE build: Judgment and party protection, AION 2 Assassin PvE build: Clone and critical hits, AION 2 Spiritmaster PvE build: spirits and Fusion or AION 2 Chanter PvE build: Dark Crush and party buffs. UNSURE: a current best damage ranking, exact optimized rotations and complete per-class stat breakpoints. These are eight starting setups; advanced optimization and independent method checks remain unfinished.
