AION 2 beginner guide: your first session

Start with the global Windows PC version, pick a class you want to learn and follow the main story. Coordinate your server and faction with friends before creating a character.

Before character creation

1. Install through the official Steam listing or NC's PURPLE service. The official FAQ says they share servers and game content.
2. Agree on a region, server and faction with your friends. Do not rely on an old transfer promotion to fix a mismatch later.
3. Read AION 2 classes: choose your first character for the kind of job each class performs. A damage ranking cannot tell you whether you enjoy healing or leading a boss fight.
4. Set up movement and camera controls using AION 2 settings for clearer combat.
5. Begin the main story, then use AION 2 leveling: story gates at 22 and 32 when it asks for more progression.

What carries across clients?

The FAQ says Steam can be used without linking a PURPLE account. Sharing the same character and progress between the two requires account linking. Existing Korean or Taiwanese progress does not transfer to global. Check the account you are signed into before linking rewards or making purchases.

Do I need to pay first?

No entry purchase is required: global is free to play. Its optional membership, pass and shop still affect the experience. The FAQ describes membership access to the player economy and currency exchanges. Read the current product details before buying; this guide does not promise identical access for every account type.

Hizzle's recommendation: learn one character before funding alts or buying a bundle. Keep a short list of what actually blocks you: story, item level, survival or unfamiliar mechanics. Solve that problem first.
