Build a global PvE Templar around Judgment's short activation windows, with Punishment as a separate charged attack. Keep movement and manual defense available, and choose a four-Stigma setup that supports your party's needs.

Status: Single source for the complete build recommendation. Mobalytics and the older Corpus comparison share NoBS Game Guides material; the community compilation also mixes global and regional reports. Individual skill references identify the October 28 client. Hizzle checked the latest November 4 notes but has not played or tested this setup.

Start with the attacks that feed Judgment

Use a longsword. Keep Vicious Strike, Pummel, Judgment, Shield Smite, Warding Strike and Punishment available as they unlock. Poach and Shield Rush provide conditional movement, while your equipped Stigmas add further tools.

The base-point reference develops your main attacks alongside Fury, Enhance Health and Punishing Benediction. Total skill levels in developed builds include bonuses from Daevanion, gear and Arcana. Ordinary active-skill points stop at base 10 in the referenced system, so a target of total 16 requires more than spending regular skill points.

Judgment 16 still needs an activation window

The October 28 references give these trigger windows:

  • Shield Smite: Judgment becomes available for two seconds.
  • Warding Strike: Judgment becomes available for two seconds.
  • Shield Rush: Judgment becomes available for two seconds, with its own movement condition.
  • Doom Shield: Judgment becomes available for three seconds.

Judgment's selected cooldown-removal option opens at total 16. It lets you use the attack repeatedly during an available window. It does not remove the need for a trigger or keep the skill permanently lit.

Before that upgrade, allow for Judgment's cooldown when choosing another trigger. After it, try to spend the current window before creating another one. Watch the actual skill state; Hizzle has no measured cast count that every character can reproduce.

Two active Specialty slots at total 16

Active slots open at totals 8, 12 and 20. At 16, only two choices fit. For Judgment, the authored starting setup pairs extra damage on hit with cooldown removal. A third critical-hit choice needs a third slot or must replace one of those two.

Other useful milestones to inspect and select:

  • Vicious Strike 12: reduces Warding Strike's cooldown by two seconds on hit. Total 16 opens its Threatening Blow chain option.
  • Pummel 12: reduces Punishment's cooldown by one second on hit. Total 16 opens extra damage on Punishing Strike.
  • Warding Strike 16: opens a party effect granting 10% PvE Damage Tolerance and 5% PvP Damage Tolerance on skill use. This competes with its earlier choices for your available slots.
  • Punishment 16: opens an option that ignores Block/Evasion and lands as a critical hit. Speed, damage-over-time and mobile casting are separate choices; you cannot equip every listed benefit at once.

Recheck the selected options after changing equipment. Losing a bonus rank can take away an important milestone even if your overall item level rises. See AION 2 gear upgrades: belt, amulet and spending.

Choose exactly four Stigmas

The authored starter provides two clear stages:

  • Progression alternative: Shield of Protection, Noble Armor, Battlefield Banner, Doom Shield.
  • Group alternative with Taunt: Shield of Protection, Noble Armor, Taunt, Doom Shield. Taunt replaces Battlefield Banner.

For a specific party-shield need, the authored guide proposes Nezekan's Shield in Doom Shield's place. With the group alternative, that means Shield of Protection, Noble Armor, Taunt and Nezekan's Shield. You give up Doom Shield's dash and extra Judgment trigger.

Battlefield Banner's value depends on the setup, and the sources disagree on when it deserves a slot. Some newer community players also replace Doom Shield once their other triggers provide enough opportunities. UNSURE: one best four-skill set for every dungeon, gear level and party. Discuss the required protection and debuffs before swapping a tool out.

What Taunt actually adds in PvE

The skill record lists damage, increased Enmity and the Shrink debuff. Its explicit chance to apply the Taunt status is conditional on the target being a player. Do not turn that wording into a guarantee that every boss must target you for a fixed duration.

Taunt's level-5 Stigma milestone adds a 10% PvE Damage Tolerance reduction to Shrink. That is the party-relevant debuff often discussed in builds. Level 15 instead shortens the cooldown by five seconds; level 20 extends the listed Taunt and Shrink durations. A recommendation to raise Taunt to 15 does not mean its PvE debuff first unlocks there.

Maintain the debuff when it is useful and watch enemy targeting and mechanics. UNSURE: encounter-specific immunity, scripted targeting and the exact damage improvement for every party. A tooltip reduction is not proof of a measured universal party DPS gain.

Manual Block helps keep Fury active

Shield of Protection gives direct control over Block. Use it for an incoming blockable attack, then resume attacking when safe. Its level-5 milestone adds a consecutive use; level 10 adds mobility. The listed Block and Block Damage Reduction effects do not establish immunity to every mechanic.

Fury grants its party damage bonuses for 20 seconds on Block in the referenced description. Noble Armor 15 multiplies Fury's effect by 1.5 while Noble Armor is active. Noble Armor also heals and raises maximum HP, but pressing it is not itself the Block that triggers Fury.

Check the actual buff and attack timing rather than assuming natural Block chance will maintain everything. UNSURE: how each component combines with every Gladiator, Cleric or Chanter bonus in the current live client. Do not discard the whole passive based on a blanket claim that all party buffs are redundant.

Charge Punishment between useful windows

Punishment has three charge levels and grants Executor, including a PvE damage bonus. Keep the held charge manual and choose a safe opening. If Judgment is already available, spending that short window before beginning a long charge is the authored learning approach.

Resource management matters too. The displayed base descriptions give 100 MP restored by Vicious Strike and 120 MP spent by Pummel. Pummel is not the MP-recovery button. Alternate attacks according to your available skills, resources and mechanics rather than copying a high-rank input loop without its upgrades.

Keep dashes under your control

Poach's selected movement option works when the target has Incapacitated Immunity. Its ordinary pull and that boss-approach option are different behaviors. The separate kill-reset option helps farming; it does not reset merely because you hit a living boss.

Shield Rush's reference requires Dodge or flying before the rush. Use movement deliberately so a repeated input cannot carry you back into a dangerous area. Doom Shield also moves you toward its target. Its level-5 milestone resets Annihilate on hit, whereas its own cooldown reset arrives at level 15 on defeating an enemy.

A practical learning order

  1. Check the boss's opening and your equipped four Stigmas. Prepare Noble Armor and any selected opening buff.
  2. Approach only when safe. Keep the boss's facing and your party's position in mind.
  3. Apply Taunt's Shrink if that Stigma is equipped, without assuming it overrides scripted targeting.
  4. Charge Punishment in a safe opening. Use a trigger and spend Judgment's available window.
  5. Fill gaps with your other attacks and MP recovery. Use the next trigger when it can create a useful new window.
  6. Time Shield of Protection for a blockable attack and watch Fury. Save movement for mechanics and recovery.

This is Hizzle's learning order from the documented conditions, not an optimized measured rotation. For in-client skill stacks and keybinds, see AION 2 settings for clearer combat. Exact macro delays, complete stat/gear/Arcana choices, full Daevanion routes and new Ludra tank-buster solutions remain UNSURE.

The latest full November 4 notes list no named Templar skill changes. The maintenance notice has not confirmed completion at this check. Neither fact validates every older build; see AION 2 global patch notes: guide changes and limits for the scope and remaining evidence gaps.
