Slay the Spire 2 co-op supports up to four players online, with Steam friends rather than public matchmaking in the checked developer FAQ. Use the group’s actual branch and mod setup before comparing builds or diagnosing a connection problem.

Get the session ready

  1. Confirm everyone has finished updating to the same intended branch and version.
  2. Agree whether the session is unmodded. If mods are used, compare the actual enabled set and its dependencies.
  3. Use the game’s multiplayer lobby and Steam friend invitation flow.
  4. Check the lobby’s selected characters and settings before starting.

The exact lobby buttons can vary by update. Hizzle has not performed a live connection test and does not promise a fix for every Steam overlay or network error.

Plan the turn as a group

Say which enemy you intend to remove and which protection the team still needs. A card or potion already aimed at an enemy another player defeats can become a wasted plan. Main’s notes include fixes for those changing-target situations; that history does not make simultaneous play perfectly predictable in every session.

The Steam description explicitly includes multiplayer-specific cards. A solo build’s missing card or changed synergy can therefore reflect mode scope rather than a bad installation.

Keep features distinct

Online co-op does not establish built-in local split-screen support. A Workshop item advertising couch play is a mod, not evidence of a standard game feature. UNSURE: exhaustive local-play options, every scaling rule and all modded compatibility cases. Use the published platform FAQ for what the developer actually supports.
