Slay the Spire 2 how to unlock all characters: end a run with each newly available character in order: Ironclad, Silent, Regent, Necrobinder, then Defect. The checked published routes agree that a win is not required for this roster chain.
The sequence
- Ironclad is available at the start. End a run with him to open Silent.
- End a run with Silent to open Regent.
- End a run with Regent to open Necrobinder.
- End a run with Necrobinder to open Defect.
The references describe losses and deliberate Give Up runs as counting too. Hizzle suggests playing the character long enough to understand its starting mechanics unless opening the roster quickly is your immediate goal. A manual abandonment ends that run; it is not a way to keep climbing the same attempt.
Inspect the right progression screen
Return to character select after the run ends. Check the required character in the chain rather than repeating an Ironclad run to unlock everyone. The Timeline and its Epoch unlocks are related progression systems, but they are not a released Steam achievement list.
If the next character stays locked
Record which character finished, which mode you used and whether mods were active. Check the actual Timeline state and current patch before assuming a universal bug. UNSURE: every custom-run, modded-profile and multiplayer exception; the basic chain is not proof that all modes share identical save flags.
This is a researched unlock route, not a Hizzle account demonstration. Future roster additions can change the list, so the five-character count is tied to the current check date.
