Slay the Spire 2 how to turn off mods: open Settings → Mod Settings, disable the installed mods you do not want and restart the game. The maintainer documentation and a firsthand Steam reply describe this route; you do not need to delete saves to try it.
Return to ordinary play
- Open the game’s Settings and find Mod Settings.
- Disable every mod when your goal is an unmodded session, including dependencies that would otherwise stay active.
- Close and restart the game if requested, then inspect which mods and profile are active.
- Check the expected progression screen before continuing an important run.
Turning off one content mod while leaving another active is not the same as returning to a completely unmodded session. Steam Workshop subscriptions and the game’s enabled-mod state are also different things.
Why progress can look different
The community maintainer documents separate modded and unmodded saves. Main 0.107.1’s notes say removed or errored mods no longer cause their progress to be deleted. Beta later changes save-copy behavior; Beta 0.111.0 fixes two cases involving a player declining mod loading.
Those fixes do not prove that every Main player already receives Beta’s automatic copy behavior. If a profile looks empty, inspect the active mod state and branch before treating the appearance as a confirmed wipe.
A bounded troubleshooting method
Keep a backup before changing a valuable setup, and record the version and enabled mods if you need to report an issue. Hizzle does not recommend deleting save folders, forcing a merger or blindly changing Steam Cloud as a first step.
UNSURE: every mod combination and command-line variation. The consistent menu route above is the method used here; a workshop comment alone is not proof that every launch flag works in every environment.
