AION 2 old gear: what to extract, transfer or keep

AION 2 old gear: extract ordinary equipment you have outgrown, but inspect enhanced pieces and spare Unique gear for Transfer or Sync value first. NPC sale is not the normal disposal route described by the checked global guides and player answers.

Decide before pressing Extract

This is Hizzle's decision order from the checked community explanations, not a claim every item qualifies for every action. A gear color alone cannot identify the best use. A spare with disappointing stats can still have material value; a good roll can be worth preserving for a later donor comparison.

How to extract equipment

1. Confirm that your replacement is actually usable. Check its level, stats, skill lines and intended build before removing the old piece.
2. Open your inventory's Extraction action. The accepted Steam answer describes the control next to inventory sorting, also described by players as a flask-shaped icon. UI position can change; read the action label.
3. Select only the item you decided to consume. If a selection filter includes Unique gear or a saved donor, remove it before continuing.
4. Inspect the listed materials and any appearance reward. Do not assume an exact stone refund, Kina return or new skin from a guide's generic description.
5. Confirm only when the item and output match your intention. Extraction consumes the selected equipment; a useful transfer line cannot be recovered by wishing the stones back into the old item.

UNSURE: exact current refunds for every item/upgrade state and all extraction eligibility exceptions. The preview is the practical check for your own piece. Hizzle has not dismantled or restored equipment in-game.

Why keep spare Unique gear?

The community explanations use spare Unique equipment for Sync, replacing a selected Soul Binding line. It does not guarantee a better result. Keeping useful spares is a recommendation, not an instruction to fill storage forever with every drop. Set aside the donors and material you have a concrete use for, compare their full value and clear the ordinary clutter separately. If your bag is full during a run, a quick batch-extraction filter is a poor place to make an irreversible build decision.

Transfer, Market and recipe checks

For an enhanced item, compare the donor and destination in the actual Transfer preview. The October 28 update changed Expedition-to-crafted paths, and transfer does not move every property through every item pair. Tradable equipment can have a Market use; bound quest equipment is a different case. Read the item's binding and trade restrictions instead of treating the Market as an NPC vendor. For duplicates, inspect the named Substance Morph recipe or request rather than assuming every unwanted piece converts into the same reward.
